We did a tour of Vietnam with my family last month. It was one of our best vacations. IDC Travel team who helped us plan the trip was amazing. Alex was always available and followed us every day to make sure the trip was going well. Our Glory Cruise in Halong Bay was excellent, beautiful boat, helpful staff, lots of food. We will recommend IDC to our friends.

Great experience thanks to friendly and informative service. The guides were very attentive, as were the rest of the members. The agency was in regular contact with my family before the scheduled date, the shuttle was smooth on time, the places to visit were beautiful. It's a good mix, no rush and enough time to have both activity and relaxation time. 100% recommend!

The guide knew the area very well and spoke good English. The beach is beautiful and maybe because of the virus fewer people travelling, or maybe because of the location and the timing, but it felt like we had the whole area to ourselves. The food and fruits are also delicious.

I found IDC travel online because of the good reviews, and after a day of inquiring, Sir Alex responded right away with a detailed itinerary tailored to our preference! He is very responsive and accommodating with our needs, especially during our travel. Our trip in vietnam was organised, smooth, and really enjoyable! Even the organization of the itinerary and payments went smoothly. Some few comments would be agreeing to the previous review, like having the tour guide give us advices/tips about maybe the weather, what to wear, what to expect during the tours or anything important to bring if necessary so we could prepare better in terms of outfit, what to bring, etc. The drivers are very nice, but it would be even better if they greeted/welcomed us once we arrive. One driver did not have proper signage so we were waiting for quite awhile. Nevertheless, Sir Alex listened to our concerns and came up with solutions right away. Overall, we are very satisfied and it was great value for our money too. We booked another tour with them for Thailand this August. We cannot wait to book with them again in the future.

An unforgettable 19-day journey! From cruising the emerald waters of Halong Bay to soaking up the sun on Pattaya Beach, every day brought a new surprise. I loved the vibrant street life in Hanoi, the temples of Bangkok, and the warm smiles everywhere. The tour was well-balanced with culture, relaxation, and adventure. Family vacation in Vietnam with children

Vietnam is widely known for adventure travel, but it is equally one of Southeast Asia’s most family-friendly destinations, even for parents traveling with babies, toddlers, or teenagers. The country is safe, welcoming, and easy to navigate, with short travel distances and a wide range of activities that naturally engage children. From simple hands-on cultural experiences to gentle nature exploration, Vietnam allows young travelers to learn about history, daily life, and the environment without feeling overwhelmed. Vietnamese cuisine is another advantage for families: fresh ingredients, mild flavors, and iconic dishes like pho, banh mi, and fresh spring rolls are both safe and appealing for children.

By choosing an organized family tour in Vietnam, parents can focus on enjoying the journey while professionals handle the planning. Based on your travel dates, destinations, and the ages of your children, itineraries can be adjusted for pace, comfort, and interest level, with flexible activities and family-friendly accommodations throughout. The result is a trip that feels relaxed, enriching, and genuinely enjoyable for every member of the family.

What Do Our Family Tours in Vietnam Include?

Our Vietnam family tours are designed to answer what parents care about most: what children will do, what they will learn, and how safe and comfortable the experience will be.

1. Hands-on local experiences for children

Kids actively join daily life through age-appropriate activities such as learning how rice is grown, visiting craft villages, and making traditional items like lanterns, pottery, or folk toys with local artisans. These experiences are interactive, supervised, and adapted to different age groups.

2. Family-friendly cooking and food discovery

Families participate in cooking classes that begin with a guided visit to a local market. Children learn how to recognize fresh ingredients, understand Vietnamese food culture, and prepare simple, tasty dishes that suit young palates. We carefully consider food hygiene and safety throughout the process.

3. Cultural experiences that keep children engaged

Instead of long, tiring visits, cultural learning is delivered through engaging formats such as water puppet shows, outdoor cultural performances like The Quintessence of Tonkin or Hoi An Memories, and traditional music shows. These activities help children understand Vietnamese history and culture in a way that feels enjoyable rather than academic.

4. Light adventure activities with safety as a priority

Family tours include gentle outdoor activities such as cycling, short hikes, kayaking, swimming, and boat trips. All activities are pre-checked, paced for children, and led by experienced guides. Safety standards, equipment, and local conditions are reviewed carefully before inclusion.

5. Flexible itineraries built around your family

Each itinerary is adjusted based on your children’s ages, energy levels, and interests. Travel distances are reasonable, rest time is built in, and accommodations are selected for comfort and family suitability.

Our goal is simple: to help families travel through Vietnam in a way that feels enriching, safe, and genuinely enjoyable for both parents and children, while creating shared memories rooted in real cultural experiences.

Don’t wait to book our family vacation package now and make it an unforgettable memory!

Both Thai and Vietnamese cuisine are great, from their look to flavor. In each destination, we tried some food, and all of them were so excellent that they awakened our taste buds. This is our very first time traveling to Thailand and it was an unforgettable escape. Our 10-day trip from Chiang Mai to Phuket was an amazing experience, thanks to IDC Travel. In Chiang Mai, we explored beautiful temples, visited an ethnic elephant sanctuary, and enjoyed the lively night markets. Then, off to Phuket, where we relaxed on stunning beaches, took a breathtaking Phi Phi Islands tour, and indulged in delicious Thai food. The itinerary was well organized, and our guide made every moment so special. Highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting Thailand!

My friends and I decided to take this trip to Thailand, and it was so fascinating. We have never visited a floating market like Famnoen Saduak, so this was so exciting to experience the vibrant atmosphere. The Grand Palace left us in awe with its intricate architecture and rich history. Then, the cruise on the Chao Phraya River gave us a unique and romantic view of Bangkok. Big thanks to our guide for making the trip smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour for first-time travellers to Thailand!

Common Questions Travelers Ask Us

You can easily find a variety of family vacation tours in Vietnam on our website and on the internet. You’ll wonder how to decide which one is best for your family when you’re organizing a trip. Here are our top three suggestions for planning the ideal family vacation:

  • Check out the included locations: Since Sapa, Mai Chau, and Ha Giang are in the mountainous region of Vietnam 3/4, you shouldn’t include them on your itinerary.
  • Verify the included activities to determine whether or not they are appropriate for the child. For example: cycling, motorcycling, hiking, etc. Some tours include kid-friendly extras like cooking classes, painting, and regular local activities.
  • Check the weather before you travel because Vietnam is a tropical monsoon region, and the weather can vary greatly from one location to another.

There is a minimum age requirement for all tours in Vietnam. Depending on the adventure level, the required age also changes. Please review the following requirements before booking one of our family adventure tours in Vietnam:

  • The minimum age is 6 to 8 years old for easy hikes/bike rides (3-5 km), and parents must look after their kids alone.
  • Children must be at least 11 or 12 years old to participate in this difficult hike or ride a motorcycle or bicycle.
  • Some difficult circuits include activities such as climbing and diving, and children’s participation is not encouraged.

We offer a 7-day family tour of northern Vietnam, where kids can enjoy fun and educational activities. The following locations are some ideas for the journey:

  • Hanoi: our capital with thousands of stories and culture. There are multiple craft villages that are suitable for your child to learn and enjoy manual activities like making a local product.
  • Ninh Binh: also known as Halong Bay on land, offers stunning scenery and a tranquil village atmosphere for your family to enjoy.
  • Halong Bay: the best place not to miss during a trip to Vietnam, with various exciting water activities such as kayaking and swimming.

To help you plan a detailed program, please contact us. Then our travel consultant will help you organize an unforgettable family tour in Vietnam.
