Highlights

  • Bathing with Elephants: The Elephant Village Sanctuary near Luang Prabang is an educational facility dedicated to the rehabilitation and protection of Asian elephants in Laos. This is one of the most comprehensive hands-on experiences in the country and a rare opportunity to get up close to these magnificent animals for your children.
  • Visit a hill tribe village: Although the hiking routes can be a challenge for children, the hill tribe villages of Laos are well worth a visit. A night at a homestay in Laos is something your whole family can enjoy.
  • Explore Vat Phou: These ruins are fantastic to explore for young children and culture vultures. Your children will love them, as they can climb them without being disturbed by other tourists.

Tips

  • Laos is a year-round destination, but November through April are the best months for warm days and cool nights.
  • November and January are particularly the ideal months to take a cruise when the water level of the Mekong River is high.
  • Be warned that the sun in Laos can be intense in the middle of the day, even in winter from December to February. Apply sunscreen and wear a hat, stay hydrated, and plan some downtime. Temperatures drop a lot at night in winter, so be sure to bring socks and a jacket.
  • Take advantage of low season rates (May to October), when hotels reduce their prices a half.

Important Tips for Perfect Laos Family Holidays

Laos is a great place for kids to go on vacation because it is educational, peaceful, and easy to handle. Unlike destinations that are too busy or too fast-paced, Laos has a slower pace, short travel distances, and friendly locals, making it a great place for families and groups of all ages to visit.

Our Laos Family Holidays are planned with a realistic pace, kid-friendly activities, and family-friendly accommodations to make sure parents feel safe and kids stay interested and busy.

What Is a Laos Family Holiday?

A Laos family vacation is a well-planned trip that includes learning about the culture, doing fun things, and getting enough rest. It can be tailored to visitors of all ages. Plans don’t try to see too many places; instead, they focus on being clear, comfortable, and giving kids experiences that are easy for them to understand and enjoy.

In Laos, the most family-friendly tours are:

  • Visit Luang Prabang to see buildings, see river life, and get involved with local culture.
  • Short boat or river trips that keep you from getting too tired
  • Easy things to do outside, like going to waterfalls, walking around villages, or visiting craft fairs
  • Extensions that can lead to quieter countryside or waterfront towns

It’s not important to “see everything”. What matters is that families feel safe, important, and stress-free in Laos.

Why Is Laos a Good Destination for Family Travel?

Laos is a great place for children to visit because it is naturally set up for slow travel and gentle discovery. The world’s cities and sites are smaller, and daily life moves more slowly, which lets kids watch and learn without feeling rushed.

This is why families pick Laos:

  • Days spent traveling are usually short and easy.
  • It’s open, quiet, and simple to get around cultural places with guides.
  • People in the area are patient, friendly, and open to kids.
  • The setting as a whole feels safe and less stressful.

My friend and I are foodie travelers, so we decided to book this tour with the desire to explore the Southeast Asia culinary scene, and this tour was absolutely beyond our expectations. Both Thai and Vietnamese cuisine are great, from their look to flavor. In each destination, we tried some food, and all of them were so excellent that they awakened our taste buds. Thank you IDC Travel for guiding us to the popular food spots and supporting us during our trip! Would definitely use their service in the future!!!

Our 8-day honeymoon in Thailand was nothing short of magical! From the vibrant streets of Bangkok to the serene beaches of Phuket and Krabi, every moment felt like a dream. We will never forget the sunset cruise in Phang Nga Bay; it was so romantic. Delicious Thai cuisine and warm hospitality made it even more special. Truly an unforgettable honeymoon.

This is our very first time traveling to Thailand and it was an unforgettable escape. Thailand beaches were so lively, and Phang Nga Bay amazed us with its dramatic limestone cliffs and emerald waters, especially during a scenic boat tour. This is truly a must-visit for nature lovers and beach enthusiasts!

Our 10-day trip from Chiang Mai to Phuket was an amazing experience, thanks to IDC Travel. In Chiang Mai, we explored beautiful temples, visited an ethnic elephant sanctuary, and enjoyed the lively night markets. Then, off to Phuket, where we relaxed on stunning beaches, took a breathtaking Phi Phi Islands tour, and indulged in delicious Thai food. The itinerary was well organized, and our guide made every moment so special. Highly recommend this trip for anyone visiting Thailand!

My friends and I decided to take this trip to Thailand, and it was so fascinating. We have never visited a floating market like Famnoen Saduak, so this was so exciting to experience the vibrant atmosphere. The Grand Palace left us in awe with its intricate architecture and rich history. Then, the cruise on the Chao Phraya River gave us a unique and romantic view of Bangkok. Big thanks to our guide for making the trip smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour for first-time travellers to Thailand!

I've been dreaming of a holiday to somewhere off the beaten track, and this tour was exactly what I was looking for. From the moment I arrived in Yangon, I was captivated by its blend of colonial charm and spiritual beauty. Then, came too Ngapali Beach; the crystal water surprised me and the fresh seafood here was so good! Big thanks to our fantastic tour guide and IDC Travel for their seamless planning and warm hospitality. Highly recommend!!!

Cycling through Shan State was an unforgettable adventure in my life. This is my very first time riding a bike from misty hills to peaceful villages; every turn revealed breathtaking landscapes. When riding along the Inle Lake, I can see the floating gardens, stilt houses, and golden pagodas reflecting on the water—so amazing! The climbs were tough, but the stunning views and refreshing local tea made it all worthwhile. Big thanks to our guide and IDC Travel; they made every moment so memorable. If Myanmar is on your list, dont wait to go!

This trip was pure magic! From the bustling streets of Hanoi to the tranquil water of Ha Long Bay, Vietnam's beauty took my breath away. Then, came to Cambodia, where the sunrise over Angkor Wat was nothing short of surreal. Exploring an ancient temple wrapped in jungle vines felt like uncovering a lost world. Every moment, from the warm smiles of locals to the rich flavors of street food, all of these make this trip unforgettable. Huge thanks to our guide and travell team for making everything so memorable.
