Mekong Delta Eco-Tour in 2 Days

8:00 am: Car and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel, ready to start our incredible 2-day Mekong Delta journey. Our first destination is Cai Be Pier along the mighty Mekong River. Sit back and relax as our ‘sampan’ (a traditional motorboat) takes you along the serene canals. These waterways are hidden between fresh vegetation and local villages, where you can admire the colors and local culture.

Then we return to the mainland of Tan Phong Island. After a short stop at a savory fruit garden, we will experience the enchanting music of Vietnam as guests of a local show and take a bicycle tour with a guide to discover this wonderful island. Along the way, we’ll visit indigenous families and learn how these locals use the land to make everything from delicate rice paper to the sturdy roofs of their houses. A local family will treat us with many Mekong specialties for lunch, including freshly made spring rolls, fried pumpkin flowers, and beautifully braised pork soaked in coconut juice.

After the special lunch, we will return to our boat and go through the small canals of the delta. Here we can get closer and be a part of the daily life of local inhabitants and farmers. We will see the craftsmanship of local merchants in preparing delicious coconut candies, rice wine, unique handmade pottery, and bricks made from scratch. Then we will head to Vinh Long, pier and market here will help you experience even more delicacies that the Mekong has to offer.

Finally, we will drive to Can Tho to reach your accommodation. We will have time to relax and a chance to explore the beautiful nightlife and tasty cuisine of this spectacular city’s night market during your overnight stay.

On the second day of the 2-day Mekong Delta journey, we will get up early and leave directly to make the most of the day. We will use our own private boat to head to Cai Rang, the largest floating market in the Mekong Delta, which is always bustling at good times. You will experience selling local products from boat to boat. You can even sip a morning coffee in one of the great floating cafés.

After the market, we will return to the hotel for a well-deserved breakfast. After checking out, we will head to My Tho to visit the spectacular Vinh Trang Pagoda. Here, our guide will show you around the incredible five-acre site, explain the history of this temple, and show you the unique architecture and sculpture. After what promises to be an enjoyable day, we will return to Ho Chi Minh City and drive you back to your accommodation. End of an interesting eco-tour in the Mekong Delta for 2 days.
