Drive through the well-known market town of Bac Ha and beyond, passing via one of Vietnam’s highest road passes. It’s a long day in the car, but there’s no time to become bored because the view is simply stunning.

We left Bac Ha on a full-day excursion through Sin Man and Hoang Su Phi to Ha Giang Town. The hard but picturesque road winds through deep forest before crossing a pass and descending to Sin Man. This is a difficult day for our driver because we are traveling on twisty roads with several uphill and downhill trips. We may come across the Nung Ing, Tay, Red Dao, Dao Ao Dai, La Chi, and Co Lao, to name a few of the many hill tribal tribes that have lived there. Overnight in Ha Giang.

You may take part in a guided tour of the Ha Giang museum, followed by an early lunch.

The guides will pick you up at the hotel and transfer you to the communal center in Quyet Tien. You will then trek for around 3 hours to Khau Lan village, passing through lush paddy fields, little villages, and lovely woods. You meet the village head and your host families in Khau Lan – the Dao people.

6.30 p.m. Everyone on the tour will eat dinner with one family before splitting off to spend the night with three or four separate host families.

Khau Lan is a Dao people’s tiny village. You will have the unique chance to participate in your host family’s everyday life, which may entail laboring in the fields, getting wood, mowing grass for the cattle, and making meals.

Lunch is served at various locations outside the village, depending on the activity.

After another local dish for supper, you may spend the evening sitting around a fire, talking and laughing with the locals, before spending another night at your host family’s home.

After breakfast and saying goodbye to the hosts, you walk another route back to the commune center, passing through stunning caverns, streams, and woodlands.

The transfer will take you to the Quan Ba District town, where you will have around 2 hours to shower and rest at the district guesthouse or have a tour through the small town.

Around 2:00 p.m. Your guides will meet you and transfer you to Thanh Van Commune. You will arrive in Lang Tan village after a short (30-minute) stroll. Lang Tan is a tiny Hmong community. The community is located among rocky terrain, making rice cultivation challenging. The peasants created a unique maize wine industry to supplement their income.

You will trek through hills and through forests with an Asia Pacific Travel guide and a local pathfinder to Can Ty Commune, where the transfer will be waiting for you. The car brings you through gorgeous scenery to Dong Van Town, stopping at the remnants of the H’mong monarchy along the way.

Around 6.30 p.m. The tour participants all check into a tiny motel in Dong Van and have dinner at a local eatery.

The transfer route leads from Dong Van to Meo Vac District via a stunning environment of undulating and majestic mountains and steep valleys.

This is the most isolated part of Vietnam, where ethnic minority peoples’ traditional lives are the most vibrant and colorful.

The cars drive you to Hop Tien village after lunch in Yen Minh town. You may visit a hemp cooperative in Hop Tien, where locals explain and practice traditional hemp farming methods (including dyeing with natural colors, weaving and decorating).

Around 5.30 p.m. You will return to Quan Ba town and settle into the nice district guesthouse.
You have dinner at a local restaurant around 6.30 p.m. before spending the night at the guesthouse.

After breakfast, you will have time to explore the vibrant market in Quan Ba town. At this market, you’ll observe people from various ethnic minority groups walking all the way from their mountain villages to Quan Ba town to trade products and meet new people.

6.30 pm. Dinner at a local restaurant in Quan Ba town, followed by an overnight stay at the district guesthouse.
