Embark on the adventure of trekking to Chiang Mai in 2 days to explore the heart of Northern Thailand. This immersive trekking tour from Chiang Mai will take you through lush jungle trails, cascading waterfalls, and remote hill tribe villages. You will have a chance to interact with local people by spending the night at a traditional Lahu village, dining with locals, and waking up to stunning mountain views. Enjoy a peaceful bamboo rafting journey down a scenic creek, and cap off the experience with an up-close encounter with elephants at a nearby sanctuary. Ideal for nature lovers and cultural explorers, this journey offers an authentic escape into Thailand’s highland beauty.
At 8:30 am, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai, heading to a local market to gather provisions. Next, we’ll take a 30-minute drive on a steep road to Mork Fa waterfall, a relaxing spot with stunning views for swimming. After visiting the waterfall, we’ll stop at a small restaurant for lunch and relaxation. Enjoy an authentic Thai meal for lunch.
Then, drive for 45-60 minutes to the trekking starting point in the jungle. You can choose an easier route suitable for families or a more challenging one for serious hikers.

After trekking for about 2.5 hours, you will reach a village of the Lahu hill tribe. You will stay here in a simple wooden hut on the village outskirts, with the opportunity to shower and freshen up. Have dinner with locals and enjoy the evening mountain views, including Thailand’s 3rd highest peak, Doi Chiang Dao.

Have breakfast, then spend time exploring the small Lahu Village and experience the hill tribe’s simple way of life. While you explore, we’ll prepare your bamboo raft for the next part of your adventure.
Each bamboo raft can accommodate 6-8 people along with their luggage. As you float down the creek, you’ll have the chance to appreciate the lush green surroundings. If you’re interested, you can even try your hand at steering the bamboo raft through the water. After about 2 hours (duration may vary by season), we’ll reach a Shan village.

When we arrive at the Shan village, you can freshen up and enjoy lunch. If time allows, you can explore the small village, cross a long wooden hanging bridge and say farewell to the rainforest. From the Shan village, it’s a 10-minute drive to the elephant camp, where you’ll have an unforgettable opportunity to interact with these majestic creatures. You can feed and walk among the elephants.
Next, depart from the rainforest and drive back to Chiang Mai.
